On December 17, 2023, ISU hosted a celebratory gathering at the Message of Islam Foundation to mark the successful completion of a significant project. The event brought together ISU members, volunteers, supporters, as well as distinguished guests, including the Honourable Liberal MP Sameer Zuberi, the Quebec Representative of the Muslim Association of Canada, and representatives from the Message of Islam Foundation. Traditional Uyghur dishes and souvenirs were offered to all attendees.

During the event, ISU shared details about the project they had been diligently working on, and everyone present enjoyed the success of their collaborative efforts. Discussions also revolved around plans to expand advocacy in the upcoming years. Liberal MP Sameer Zuberi, in his address, introduced M-62 and pledged to persist in raising awareness about the Uyghur cause. The celebration was a joyous occasion, marking both achievements and a commitment to future endeavours
