On April30, 2019, International Support for Uyghurs organized an “Uyghur Genocide Awareness and Advocacy” Seminar in  Concordia university. The main speaker Dr. Laziyan Mahmut give a speech about the Uyghur crisis and Mrs. Khando, a member of the Tibetan community in Montreal,also joined the discussion to discuss the oppression faced by these community.At the end of the discussion, Uyghurs were attacked by one of the Chinese students where he was trying to prove that Chinese government having the right policy towards Uyghurs and Tibetans. However, under the real facts, he quit the conference room in disgrace.
