On July 4th, 2021, the Uyghur community in Montreal and their allies marched in commemorating the innocent lives lost on the July 5th Urumqi protest and the millions of victims of the ongoing Uyghur genocide being committed by the Chinese government.

Sameer Zuberi, member of Parliament for Pierrefonds-Dollard was present at the rally. He gave an inspirational speech and marched with us from Dorchester Square to the Chinese Consulate of Montreal in support of Uyghurs. 

ISU would like to thank its allies including Abdulhalim Uckun from the Turkish community and MP Sameer Zuberi for standing up against the Uyghur genocide.
