Fundraising Gala in Support of Uyghur Refugees in Thailand

  • International Support for Uyghurs Montreal, QC, Canada (map)

On May 8th, International Support for Uyghurs (ISU) held a very successful online fundraising event dedicated to the Uyghur refugees in Thailand. More than 30 people participated in the event, during which Zumret Dawut, a prominent Uyghur activist and a concentration camp survivor shared her tearful experiences and called for the Muslims in the world to support the Uyghur Muslims. Hena Zuberi, Editor at MuslimMatter/org talked about how Uyghur Muslims have been facing genocide by the Chinese government and the urgency of global Muslim communities’ speaking out for the Uyghur Muslims. After the question-and-answer period, several auctions took place which featured some Uyghur, Pakistani, and Afghan cultural items.

We hope this fundraiser event is the first of many. Thank you for your continued support.
