International Support for Uyghurs (ISU) organized a protest held on February 5th in front of the Maison de Radio-Canada in Montreal. Media such as CBC are responsible for official coverage of the Olympics. Therefore, the protest was held to commemorate the Ghulja massacre, and ask for the coverage of human rights abuses by the Chinese government against the Uyghurs and other Turkic people of East Turkistan. Speeches were given by ISU, the Tibetan Association of Quebec, Action Free Hong Kong Montreal, RRSE and Dr. Susan Palmer. Special thanks to Hilal Pilavci and Félix Bibeau, friends of the Uyghur community, in helping us organize this event.
