The International Support for Uyghurs, in collaboration with the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), organized an awareness event titled "Which Freedom for the Uyghur People? Religion, Control, and Activism in the Diaspora." The event began at 6:30 PM with an introduction to ISU, followed by the screening of videos exposing the Chinese government's oppression of religious freedom in East Turkistan. From 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM, attendees enjoyed Iftar, featuring authentic Uyghur cuisine. The event concluded with a panel discussion from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM, providing a platform to address issues facing the people in East Turkistan and explore ways to support their pursuit of freedom and justice. Four distinguished guests mostly from the Uyghur diaspora shared their insights on the topic with conference attendees.
