US adds textile cos to Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act Entity List

We are reaching out on behalf of the International Support for Uyghurs (ISU) to bring your attention to recent developments in the United States, where 78 new companies have been added to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act Entity List. This move highlights the urgency of preventing forced labor products linked to Xinjiang from entering international markets.

We call on Canada to introduce similar measures to protect our supply chains from goods produced under forced labor conditions. Taking this step would reaffirm Canada’s commitment to human rights and ethical trade, ensuring we do not inadvertently support exploitation.By establishing its own entity list targeting companies implicated in forced labor, Canada can prevent the importation of goods produced in horrible conditions, thereby aligning with international efforts to combat human rights abuses against Uyghur people. We applaud the U.S decision of adding more companies to this list and ask you to raise this issue this week at the Canadian Parliament.

ISU remains committed to promoting human rights and would welcome the opportunity to provide further information on this critical issue.

Thank you for your attention to this important matter. We look forward to hearing your thoughts.
